COURT OF APPEAL UPHOLDS INJUNCTION AGAINST BTL

January 19, 2010— Yesterday in a special sitting, the Court of Appeal dismissed Telemedia’s appeal and upheld an Order made by the Honorable Chief Justice, Abdulai Conteh on December 10, 2009.

Speednet welcomes the decision of the Court of Appeal as it reaffirms the protection of Speednet’s business against wrongful interference by Telemedia contrary to the Belize Telecommunications Act and until such time that the substantive case against Telemedia is finally determined by the Supreme Court. The substantive case is scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court on February 9, 2010.
